Our Story
Andrew & Erin's Motivation to Found the School
“We are many things and do many things, but being parents to our daughter is our number one source of pride. We are very intentional in how we raise her, in a way that heavily aligns with Montessori.
We have a lot of travel experience, both as a couple and now with a child. Before setting off on a 4-month adventure in 2023, we asked ourselves if we would think it was too long. Upon our return, we realized it was not enough.
We love world schooling, but in and of itself, we (like many families) need more. We need an individualized approach to academic schooling. We also want our daughter to grow up with friends, consistent people in her life and go to an in-person screen-free school.
More and more curriculum promotes digitalization and that’s a culturally accepted norm, but we don’t believe screens in school are best for young children’s cognitive development.
Andrew works with young adults in the therapeutic industry, seeing the downward impact of pervasive tech use and Erin works in tech/marketing, with the understanding of how it all works. Andrew has successfully owned/operated in-person therapeutic programs for the past decade and from her 15 years working with clients and scopes of all sizes (now, as a partner in a digital marketing agency), Erin has the operational/strategic acumen for managing a multi-country school for 30+ families.
So? We could keep searching and try to piece things together – stack on world school hubs, move to a new country or try to find a community to collaborate with for months (dare we say, years?) at a time. Or…?
It’s about time World Traveling School exists. Worldschoolers need a SCHOOL. Traveling families need a school that offers stability with social, creative and an individualized academic emphasis. Now, all those pieces go together.
Our school is Montessori-inspired and in-person. The whole school travels to 3 locations a year across Latin America, tailoring lessons to each unique cultural environment. It’s certainly modern schooling, and for a very niche (ever-expanding) group.
In addition to hiring top-notch guides, assistants and staff, we’ve hired expert help. Our school is so rooted in proper pedagogy and curriculum it can truly unite families, bringing them together in a more long-term way, as it meets the essential developmental needs of their children.
We endeavor to provide the best education out there. We are across borders and beyond stereotypes. We hope you join us.”
